KYSC Rules
Ski Club members are expected to adhere to the MCPS and Liberty Mountain/Whitetail rules of behavior, and be cooperative and respectful. The following behaviors are absolutely unacceptable, and are cause for loss of Ski Club privileges:

Threatening, abusive, obscene, or violent language, gestures, or behavior

Throwing of anything on the bus or out of a bus window

Refusal to sit properly and remain seated on the bus, or refusal to use safety belt (if there is a safety belt in a seat, it must be used)

Vandalism, graffiti, or defacement of the bus in any way

Any inappropriate use of the on-board bus bathroom

Interfering with the bus driver or the safe operation of the bus

Drug, alcohol, or tobacco use

Sexual activity of any kind

Refusal to cooperate with a chaperone's direct request

Violation of the Liberty Mountain Code of Conduct while in the ski area

Leaving the immediate vicinity of the lodge and slopes. Shuttle buses and the tubing area "Boulder Ridge" are strictly off limits.

Pranks, practical jokes, use of novelties, etc., that threaten the safety or well-being of self or others, or that create a perception thereof.

No one should be skiing or snowboarding alone. Please make sure you meet up with a friend on the slopes, or join an existing group of skiers or boarders at your ability level. This is a club, and no one should be excluded from joining in with others. If you find yourself without a "ski buddy," please find a chaperone to ski with.

Be courteous and polite to other guests and employees at all time.

Ski/board in a safe, responsible manner.

Don’t ski/board fast or in a reckless manner.

Observe all posted signs.

Do not use foul or offensive language, comments, or gestures.

Do not throw snowballs or other items at any time or place, including from lifts or in the lift lines.

Understand and abide by the “Skier/Boarder Responsibility Code” at all times.

Always stay in control and be able to stop or avoid other people or objects.

People ahead or downhill of you have right of way. It is your responsibility to avoid them.

You must not stop where you obstruct a trail or are not visible from above.

Whenever starting downhill or merging into a trail, look uphill and yield to others.

Always use devices to prevent runaway equipment.

Observe all posted signs and warnings. Keep off closed trails and out of closed areas.

Prior to using any lift, you must have the ability to load and unload safely. Do not jump from the lift. In the event of a prolonged stoppage, the Ski Patrol will evacuate you.

Do not go down trails that are too difficult for your ability.

If you have a collision resulting in injury to another person, you must stay with that person until Ski Patrol arrives.
