Club Information

The Kensington Youth and Ski Club was founded by several parents in the fall of 2016. The Club is a 501c3 charitable organization set up to promote skiing, snowboarding and good sportmanship for youth. We typically run 3 coach busess to Liberty and Whitetail resorts. The club is open to students in grades 6 through 12. Club trips are not part of the official ski club programs offered by the local mountains because they are only available Monday-Friday nights.

SCHEDULE

See the Schedule page for this season's trips. Trips run rain oir shine, but they are subject to change based on weather and snow conditions.

REGISTRATION

The membership fee of $170 covers club expenses and bus transportation. Registration is online via CommunityPass. Payment must be made at the time of registration. Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover cards are accepted. You may also pay by e-check using your bank routing number and checking account number. Registraion for prior year members will start mid-September, and for new members it usually,  early October.

LIFT TICKETS

Lift tickets are not provided by the club and must be purchased by each member. We recommend buying lift tickets in advance from Vail Resorts (epicpass.com). Passes at mountain will be more expensive than those purchased in advance. The Club does not ski on any blackout dates, but make note of them if you plan to ski additional days.

  • If you are only skiing with the club, an Epic Day Pass for 5 days is a good option. Choose the 22 Resorts option, which includes Liberty and Whitetail.
  • The Northeast Value pass is a good if you plan to ski at other east coast resorts (note the blackout dates).
  • Other options are available that include resorts in the west and overseas.
  • Lessons need to be purcased from the mountain prior to each trip.

EQUIPMENT

We recommend checking local ski shops for seasonal rentals, or purchasing used gear. If you wish to rent from the mountain, you will need to purchase that via the mountain's web site.

OTHER ITEMS

  • Helmets are required and can be purchased at local sporting goods stores or ski shops. Costco sometimes has them available as well.
  • Liberty and Whitetail are cashless - credit and debit cards must be used for all purchases.
  • Lockers are available for a fee to store personal items. Some are large enough to be shared with friends.
  • Chaperones are available to assist with trips, but members must be able to put on their equipment and should have a basic ability to ski/snowboard. We welcome first time skiers, but we recommend a parent or guardian come along to help out for the first few trips.

See you on the slopes!
